March 07, 2017We often get calls and requests for “John Lennon Style Glasses and Sunglasses”, and although everybody knows what the term means, and certainly John Lennon (and at times Yoko Ono as well) popularized the iconic image of the round style glasses early in his career with the Beatles – the glasses and sunglasses themselves have actually been around for a long time. The origin of the John Lennon style glasses can actually be traced back to the mid 1960’s when they became popular – particularly as sunglasses – in order to mask the outward symptoms of drug use and in particular marijuana consumption which often lead to bloodshot eyes or at other times when opiates were consumed the constriction of the pupil. They became known as “teashade” glasses and were usually given some sort of opaque coatings such as mirror sunglasses or very dark tinted prescription sunglasses.

January 09, 2017Apple today is one of the strongest brands in the world, of course, built on their products such as the iPhone, iPad and of course where it all began – the MAC computer. Founded by glasses wearers Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak, they have focused their lenses on consumer products rather than optical products – but it is never too late and you never know what is going to come out of the Apple Campus at “Infinite Loop” next.
